DESCRIPTION:
The Vari-Met V2 CDI module is made for standard, lightly and heavily tuned engines. This CDI module can be easily swapped with the original CDI module without any modifications to the SpartaMet engine. The Vari-Met V2 CDI module contains two ignition curves, the Stage 1 ignition curve and the Stage 2 ignition curve. The red jumper is used to switch between the two ignition curves.

The Stage 1 ignition curve is suitable for standard and lightly tuned engines. (till about 35 km/h) With this ignition curve, the Vari-Met V2 CDI module can be easily swapped with the original CDI module without any modifications to the SpartaMet engine.

The Stage 2 ignition curve is suitable for lightly and heavily tuned engines. With this ignition curve, top speeds far beyond the 40 km/h mark have been achieved with a properly tuned engine. Before this ignition curve can be used, the flywheel has to be rotated 45 degrees, the installation manual will explain this process further. The Vari-Met V2 CDI module will standardly be configured with the Stage 1 ignition curve enabled.

The Vari-Met CDI module only works in combination with a Prufex ignition system with a blue, red or brown ignition coil. You also have to use a spark plug with an in-built resistor. The standard Bosch spark plug has got this in-built resistor, if you use a spark plug without an in-built resistor like the NGK BP4, you have to use a spark plug cap that has an in-built resistor. The standard spark plug cap does not have this in-built resistor. If you don’t take these requirements into consideration, the Vari-Met CDI module will get internally damages beyond repair.
